Aloo Ka Raita is a comfort side dish for the times when you don’t want to cook too much, yet want to have a good spread. It’s nourishing, it’s soothing and it’s filling. It’s really great while fasting. The best time to eat yogurt is in the afternoon. As per Ayurveda, yogurt should not be eaten at night, it should not be heated and it increases kapha dosha.

Ingredients
Dahi (yogurt or curd) | 1 cup |
Boiled Potato | 1 cup chopped |
Salt | 1/8 tsp |
Black Salt | 1/8 tsp |
Roasted and ground cumin seeds | 1/8 tsp |
Black pepper powder | A pinch |
Fresh cilantro leaves | To garnish |
Method
- Whisk yogurt so that it becomes smooth.
- Boil potatoes.
- Cut potatoes in half inch cubes. Wash and chop fresh cilantro finely. Add to the whisked yogurt along with all the spices. Mix well.
- Aloo Ka Raita is ready to serve. You can also add green chutney or tamarind chutney to it if you want it more tangy.
